Diogo (Sao Paulo, Brazil): In my opinion, the single biggest problem with FUT - the one thing that pushes me away from it - is the way that it is designed to be played. It is way too easy to get a huge kickstart in the first few years of a career. I am Brazilian and so I appreciate that Brazil was not selected, but I am disappointed that we have such low potential when we are such a big nation.
Sure, I'm a football fan and love the game, but I also love games like FIFA, Madden, etc. and I always want to see my players do well, but FUT is not like those games. You only ever get one chance - if you end up like me, being heavily criticized by my friends about how you just got the biggest kickstart in football history, you will never get another chance. Even if you think you're doing everything right and are just trying your best, every time you play, you will not have the same result as in the first time you tried. Your opponent will either do better than you on that turn, or you will get penalized for not being good enough. For those who don't get the chance to try more than once, let's say you do the transfer ban challenge, and you end up doing a reasonable job, how are you going to get the chance to do a better one if you screw the first one up?
It's a good deal, and is a convenient way of buying games in a similar price bracket to the base game. It also has a number of additional games included, including a couple of World Cup winners. Fifa is the most significant addition, allowing gamers to compete through the career of a national team manager.
FIFA 08 overhauled the mode, adding a new way of playing, and making a greater effort to add realistic player behaviour. Career Mode has not been changed much, although the introduction of the pre-season transfer window is welcome. The mode is still too slow, and the transfer system remains a complete shambles.
However, it is not just the game's interface that needs revamping. The FIFA World Player Index is laughable. As of March, Blatter's golden man Kane was only the 178th best player in the world, while Messi topped the list, yet the Argentine seems to have become the antithesis of the Indespensible. The PPSV Eredivisie is also laughable, with the league not being recognised as one of the world's best.
De Rossi finished the 2008–09 season with four goals in 38 appearances. De Rossi scored his first goal of the season on 10 February 2009 in the last minute of his first league appearance against Chievo. He also scored in his next three league appearances, netting four goals in the span of three matches. His first Champions League goal of the season came against Valencia on 13 February 2009.
